DIY Dog Breed Wall Art
Frame up your favorite dog breed with this quick and easy DIY art project.
Score a vintage frame from the thrift store, cut a wooden board to fit, trace your stencil and get out the hammer. In a few easy-to-follow steps you’ll have the a perfect, playful creation to add a dog-friendly pop to your home décor.
What you need:
- Wooden Frame – Plywood piece to fit frame
- Nails
- Yarn
- Paint
- Paintbrush
- Hammer
- Scissor
- Animal stencil
- Painter’s tape
Instructions:
Step 1: Paint plywood piece with your choice of color. Allow to dry completely. Apply second coat if needed.
Step 2: Center animal stencil onto wood and attach with painter’s tape.
Step 3: Hammer nails into plywood to outline the shape of the stencil. Make sure this is done on a covered surface or another piece of wood.
Step 4: Remove stencil to reveal nail outline.
Step 5: Tie beginning of yarn onto one of the nails in the outline.
Step 6: Carefully thread entire outline of nails with yarn.
Step 7: Once the outline is complete, thread inside of the outline with yarn until desired coverage is reached.
Step 8: Attach plywood to frame by nailing it into place.
